My books

Jody Williams brought me to the Walker Arts Center and to the Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA) when I was in school where I was able to study and hold artists books for the first time.

If you wonder what an artists book is just know that basically it refers to a handmade book, typically in an edition of 100 or less (often there is only one copy) and they can be found on every conceivable subject and in every possible form from a standard codex to a sculpture or a piece so conceptual in nature that most would be hard pressed to use the word ‘book’ to describe it. There are many, many amazing collections of these rare and difficult to find books as well as places to purchase them.

I have written many stories but have turned only a few into books. They are: Today I’m a Dot; There’s a Moon in my closet; Andy the Artist; and Milicent Daluke.

Milicent book pages 4 and 5
